Beginning October 5, 2026, every title company in Washington will begin charging title insurance premiums from the same statewide rate schedule.
In the past, title companies used their own approved rate schedules. That meant rates and available discounts could vary from one company to another.
That is changing.
Under the new Washington Title Insurance Rating Organization—or WATIRO—system, title companies will use the same rate schedule and rating rules.
What does this mean for your business and your clients’ transactions?
If you received a discounted rate on a past transaction, do not assume that the same discount will be available after October 5.
The new statewide schedule may calculate the premium differently. Before quoting title costs or relying on an old estimate, ask Land Title Company to review the current transaction.
If everyone uses the same schedule, why choose Land Title?
When every title company is working from the same rate schedule, the difference is the service behind the rate.
It is the experience of the people reviewing the title. It is clear communication, local knowledge and having someone available when questions arise.
Land Title Company has been serving Kitsap and Mason counties for generations. We are ready to help brokers, lenders and their clients understand the new schedule and prepare for closing.
Call Land Title Company at 360-692-2233 (Kitsap County) or 360-426-8288 (Mason County) for a current title quote or help reviewing an upcoming transaction.
Same statewide rate schedule. Local service you know and trust.
